Whimbrel

Whimbrel at Étang de la Barrière in Saint Martin.

This whimbrel is noticeably skinny after flying several days
without stopping to reach St. Martin. It will spend the winter here,
fattening up on fiddler crabs in preparation for its journey back to the
Arctic in the spring.
